22/05/2014

It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back was the hit album released by Def Jam records in 1988. With Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos, Public Enemy made a true statement in their prison inspired song which ends up at number 2 in our list.

The song samples a fragment of Isaac Hayes 'Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic' throughout the song and is a true icon in political hip hop.

The song describes the arrest and imprisonment of

ensuing a prison riot and breakout of rapper MC Chuck D. It is a fantasy but it is inspired by the wrath against the in the eyes of the rapper out of control prison industry.
